Bhang Toffee

Bhang Toffee is a new format for us — a hard, jaggery-based toffee in the style of traditional Indian chikki, rather than a goli, vati, or soft confection. Where the rest of our range is meant to be chewed and swallowed in one go, this is built to be sucked or slowly bitten through, closer to how a chikki or hard candy is eaten.

Made with Vijaya (Cannabis sativa leaf) under the NDPS Act, 1985 leaf exemption, the same compliance standard across every product on The Bhang Store. This is an edible preparation, not a smokable one — nothing here is designed to be lit or inhaled.

Why a Toffee Format

Every other product in our range is meant to be eaten quickly — one goli, one piece of cake, done. Bhang Toffee is built for a slower experience: something you suck on over several minutes rather than swallow immediately, closer to how you'd eat a chikki or hard candy at a sweet shop. That slower eating pace also means a slightly different onset pattern than our other formats, since less is absorbed all at once.

A Note on Chikki Tradition

Chikki itself has nothing to do with bhang traditionally — it's a jaggery-and-nut hard candy found across Maharashtra, Gujarat, and much of North India, usually made with peanuts or sesame. What we've done here is borrow that format and technique, rather than claim any historical link between chikki-making and bhang consumption. If you're expecting a devotional or regional story like Shivam or Sanan, this isn't that kind of product — it's a format experiment, built because a hard-candy option didn't exist anywhere in our range and some customers have specifically asked for something that isn't a goli, vati, or soft confection.

How to Use It

Start with a quarter of one toffee if this is your first time — because it dissolves slowly, it's easy to underestimate how much you've actually had before the full effect arrives. Suck or chew slowly rather than swallowing it whole; biting through the whole thing at once defeats the point of the format and makes dosing harder to judge. Wait a full 90 minutes before deciding whether you want more, since the slow-release format means effects build even more gradually than our goli range. Don't drive or operate machinery after consumption. Keep it away from children, pets, and anyone underage. Not recommended if pregnant, breastfeeding, or managing a heart or anxiety condition. Occasional use only.

Where This Sits

If you want a quick, one-piece format, our full bhang goli range — from Bhola Munakka to Mahakal — is the more familiar choice. If you liked the idea of Bhang Vijaya Cake but want something less concentrated and slower to eat, Bhang Toffee is a gentler alternative in a similarly unconventional format. This is the only hard-candy-style product in our current range.

What is Bhang Toffee?

A hard, jaggery-based chikki-style toffee made with Vijaya (Cannabis sativa leaf) — a slower-eating, hard-candy format distinct from our goli, vati, or cake range.

What ingredients are in Bhang Toffee?

Jaggery, Vijaya (Cannabis sativa leaf), ghee, sesame or peanut, and cardamom form the base — see the full breakdown above.

Is Bhang Toffee legal in India?

It's made using Cannabis sativa leaf under the NDPS Act, 1985 leaf exemption, which treats leaf differently from buds, resin, and flowering tops. Regulations vary by state, so check local rules before ordering.

Is Bhang Toffee the same as the "Bhang" chocolate brand sold in the US?

No. This is an Indian, leaf-only edible made under India's NDPS Act leaf exemption. It is unrelated to any US cannabis brand or THC-dosed product sold in dispensaries abroad.

Do I smoke Bhang Toffee?

No — it's an edible, meant to be sucked or chewed slowly like a hard candy, not smoked or inhaled.

How much should a first-timer try?

Start with a quarter of one toffee, since the slow-dissolving format makes it easy to underestimate how much you've had before the full effect arrives.

How long does it take to feel the effects?

Because it dissolves slowly, expect effects to build even more gradually than our goli range — allow a full 90 minutes before considering more.

How long do the effects last?

Several hours is typical for edible bhang preparations.

Can I eat Bhang Toffee daily?

No — it's intended for occasional use, not daily consumption.

Is Bhang Toffee safe for everyone?

It's intended for adults of legal age only. It isn't recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding women, or anyone with a heart condition or anxiety disorder — check with a doctor if you're unsure.
